Irene Jones is a television presenter, actress, and entrepreneur with a career spanning theatre, film, radio, and travel television. As a regular on the popular series Travel Oz, Irene has spent over a year bringing destinations to life alongside Greg Grainger. From showcasing the artisan delights of the Yarra Valley to sharing the vibrancy of Aussies living in New York City, Irene’s warm and engaging style connects audiences to the heart of every story. In 2025, she’ll continue to inspire wanderlust as the series takes her to the Bahamas, Hawaii, and the Middle East, including Oman, Dubai, and Kuwait.
Irene’s background in entertainment is both broad and accomplished. On-screen, she has appeared in iconic Australian television shows like Neighbours, Embassy (ABC), State Coroner (Network 10), and Blue Heelers (Channel 7). Her film work includes cameo appearances in The Heartbreak Kid (1993) and the Robbie Williams biopic Better Man (2024). She has also reported internationally, including covering the Lunar Spring Festival on Hong Kong television in 2025.
Irene’s love of theatre has seen her perform in both musicals and dramas, earning recognition for her versatility. Her credits include Guys and Dolls (as Sarah Brown, for which she was nominated for a Phoenix Theatre Award), Stage Door (as Judith), Lola Montez (as Jane), Little Shop of Horrors, and Pack of Lies. She also starred in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, which was a highlight of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
In addition to her work in entertainment, Irene is the founder and CEO of Travelglobe, a network for independent travel agents. She established the company to create a supportive and innovative space for agents and travelers, inspired by her belief in the power of connection through shared experiences. Under her leadership, Travelglobe has become known for its personal touch and community-driven approach.
Irene is passionate about supporting important causes, particularly anxiety and mental health awareness, cancer research and funding and regularly lends her voice to raising awareness for these organizations. She was also nominated for the Women in Travel Awards in 2024, reflecting her commitment to the travel industry and her leadership within it.
Outside of her professional roles, Irene hosts the podcast This, That, and the Other, where she combines humor and insight to explore topics ranging from travel to everyday life. Over the years, she has collaborated with a range of esteemed brands, including Yarra Valley Dairy, New York Tourism, Bahamas Tourism, Raffles Hotels, Le Méridien Melbourne, and Birdseyeview Consulting.
